Our Mission

ACT serves communities by developing Art and Cultural projects that showcase historic neighborhood’s cultural assets and its unique environment while providing an artistic platform for community based public art created by local and regional artists. 

Our Board

Our board is comprised of Artists, Non-profit administrators, ADA specialists, environmentalists, writers and placemakers. Formed in January 2019 by local artists ACT organized community events, and community outreach activities to produce a neighborhood mural on Knowlton Street, Bpt CT.

Previous activities include hosting an exhibition titled Unforgotten, which addressed the mental health system  by Katie Settel. ACT organized the east side location of the  Bridgeport Arts Trail which brought the community together through music, dance and visual art.  

Schedule of Activities

2020 Knowlton Walls ACT will bring together artists and musicans to a blighted neighborhood of Bridgeports East Side to collaborate and help transform an empty lot and shipping containers that will house supplies. Knowlton Walls event will bring together local residents to participate in a cultural festival lead by Board member John Ogrodnick a renowned muralist.

Monthly events to enhance the neighborhood through the arts will take place. Working with Bridgeports Planning and Zoning office ACT will beautify the park area next to 305 Knowlton Street for spring nature workshops involving the estuary the property is located on. 

Working with many community partners ACT will produce a variety of exhibitions of local and regional artists. Plan public art projects and propose them to the municipal offices, identify and write grants for funds to produce additional projects.
